Pull Up A Chair — A Retiree’s Front Porch
What’s better than a Midwestern front porch? Go ahead, we’ll wait…
We couldn’t come up with much either — especially when it’s a brand-new front porch for a newly retired couple looking to have a cozy place to spend their mornings and evenings together in comfort. (Summer thunderstorms, anyone?)
Adding a porch where one currently doesn’t exist is a challenge on its own, but we’re up for the task.
Before we started, we needed to get in touch with our architect — we needed his keen design eye + technical drawings to send over to the city for approval.
Blueprints like this one allow us a map to follow once we break ground. The finished porch will have railing and steps, but the architect only delivers us drawings of the foundational build — the things that will keep this porch in good shape for years to come.
Since this is going to be a huge change in the facade of the home, we took some before photos to illustrate the difference once we’ve completed the build, packed up our tools, and our clients are sipping iced tea on their custom front porch.
Follow along for updates; we’re really excited about this one!
